Job Description - Quality Engineer, Concern Management

The Norton Motorcycle Co. Ltd is looking for an experienced quality engineer with a track record of delivery within manufacturing / engineering / automotive industries. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual with a hands-on approach to Quality, prepared to lead by example to instil a mindset of Quality First across all levels of the organisation and throughout multiple departments. You will need to demonstrate the ability to manage a high degree of change within an organisation. 

All quality issues for new model launch and vehicle auditing are controlled through a concern management system (CMS), this role is to control the CMS to ensure issues are allocated, tracked, completed and validated to ensure vehicle quality. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

● Management of the concern management system which entails:

   o Collating build concerns through prototype builds and vehicle audits 

   o Assessing the issue to determine an appropriate owner 

   o Liaising with the relevant engineer to allocate the issue to them 

   o Monitoring the concerns through the containment and permanent corrective action steps 

   o Completing or organising validation of the concern to enable closure 

● Tracking and reporting of concern status 

● Running concern review workshops to discuss and progress concerns 

● Reporting concern status in management meetings 

● Monitoring the status of concerns and planning against new model launch gateways and deliverables 

● Supporting with internal audits and process compliance to drive quality improvements 

● Assisting the quality engineers with part and build concerns to drive quality compliance 

 

Experience:

● Automotive experience is essential

● Experienced in root cause analysis techniques

 

The Candidate:

● Exceptionally well organised 

● Very strong interpersonal skills 

● Ability to work through complex issues in a methodical manner
