Temp to Perm Wiring Harness Production Staff

Norton Motorcycles, one of the worlds most iconic Motorcycle brands is expanding its production capabilities, at its manufacturing facility in Castle Donington.  

We are now seeking experienced Wiring Harness Production Staff to join our dynamic team and help us manufacture and test wiring harness assemblies. This role would suit someone with some experience of automotive/motorcycle wiring harness production, crimping and other electrical assembly techniques.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • The ability to read and understand technical drawings and diagrams
  • An understanding of testing cable and electronic assemblies
  • Use of precision hand tools for electronic & cable assemblies
  • To carry out hands on work competently and with set production times.
  • To advise the Technical Engineer of any additional work or fault finding during the work being undertaken.
  • To keep the workshop in a clean, safe and tidy condition at all times.

Advantageous skills and knowledge:

Excellent hands on practical skills with an eye for detail.

Have a background in cable assembly manufacture and manual crimping techniques.

Familiarity with technical documentation (drawings and specifications)

IT Technician

Norton Motorcycles is a rapidly expanding dynamic business that is looking for an experienced IT Technician based at Hastings House.

 

The successful applicant should be highly organised, conscientious, be able to plan and prioritise their work and possess excellent communication skills.

 

Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Thorough understanding of computer and network concepts
  • Networking experience
  • Migrating Data
  • Server Management
  • Cisco Training would be an advantage

 

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosis of desktop, application, networking and infrastructure issues
  • Troubleshooting PC’s
  • Providing IT support to users
  • Administering the IT department’s policies and procedures
  • Installation and support of telecommunication equipment
  • Maintaining a log of all problems detected and system backups
  • Working closely with software suppliers to resolve operational issues
  • Responsible for supporting Microsoft Office Suite / Google Apps, anti-virus products, Ethernet, wireless router and firewall configurations

BMMA Academy Principle

Norton Motorcycles (UK) Limited the controlling partner of the The British Motorcycle Manufacturing Academy are offering a unique opportunity for young people in the Midlands to enter the motorcycle manufacturing industry via an apprenticeship program.

 

To this end we are looking for an Academy Principle with experience of delivering apprenticeship programmes up to level 2.

This is a multi-task role which will encompass the following:

  • The day to day administration of the Academy
  • Supporting learners undertaking the apprenticeships
  • Assessing of qualifications in a classroom setting and on a 1 to 1 basis
  • Setting key objectives, course work and reviewing with the learner on a monthly basis
  • Providing information and guidance to the learner
  • Helping with the enrolment of learners
  • Organise and maintain documentation on learners’ progress
  • Internal Quality Assessments
  • Training Assessments
  • Full responsibility for Academy Health and Safety
  • Management of Human Resources for the Academy
  • Liaison with the awarding organisation
  • Liaison with the primary provider (Nottingham College)

  • Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice

CAD Engineer

The role of CAD Engineer at Norton is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a small close knit team of industry professionals in a fast moving and dynamic environment, working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

The role would consist of product design from concept through to production and production support, including scheming and detailed component engineering using the latest 3D CAD software (Creo).

Experience essential:

  • Minimum of 3 years Pro Engineer / CREO experience
  • Knowledge of surfacing functionality to create complex parts
  • Experience with Design for Manufacture (DFM)
  • Experience with Design for Assemble (DFA)
  • Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with aluminium’s castings, forgings, mouldings,  rubbers and steels

Engine Builder and Engine Sub Assembly

Norton Motorcycles, one of the worlds must iconic Motorcycle brands is expanding its production capabilities, at its Manufacturing Facility based at Donington Hall.  Our Business is expected to grow significantly over the next 3 years as demand for our existing range and new and exciting V4 Bike increases daily.

Must have good knowledge of 4 stroke engines and be practically minded along with being able to understand instructions, working from drawings and assembly manuals. Have an understanding of measuring equipment such as verniers and bore micrometers.

Senior Design Engineer

The role of Senior Design Engineer at Norton is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a small close knit team of industry professionals in a fast moving and dynamic environment, working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

The role will consist of product design and validation from concept through to production and production support, including scheming and detailed component engineering using the latest 3D CAD software (Pro E), homologation and vehicle testing.

As a senior member of the design team, the candidate will have engineering responsibility for derivative models and following these into production, as well as significant areas on new projects. Taking accountability for projects from concept through to production and have a commercial awareness.  A senior design engineer will also assist with the day to day running of the design office.

Paint Sprayer

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of our painting, lacquering and coating processes.

  • Preparation and Masking of High Quality post welded and manufactured components
  • Hand Spray Painting
  • Gloss and Matt Lacquering
  • Air Brushing
  • Chroming
  • Quality Checking

We are seeking an experienced Paint sprayer who is happy to join us at a challenging time with a view to helping us improve all our processes and assist with increasing demand for our products.

Experience with chrome would also be an advantage

Motorcycle Service Technician

The role of Motorcycle Technician at Norton Motorcycle (UK) Ltd is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a small close knit team of industry professionals in a fast moving and dynamic environment, working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

Key Responsibilities:

• Test and diagnose vehicle faults, interpreting repair order instructions and technical information.

• Plan necessary work and order parts to ensure vehicles are ready as promptly as possible.

• Carry out all servicing and repairs to manufacturer standards and with effective use of time and resources.

• Discuss any work requiring specialist skills with the workshop supervisor/controller.

• Accurately report vehicle faults and work carried out for ease of reference by service reception.

• Observe relevant health and safety procedures, including the use of protective clothing and equipment.

• Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a safe and clean condition.

• Maintain correct warranty procedures and clocking details in line with defined company procedures.

• Train apprentices when required and supervise ensuring work is checked before being released.

• Return exchanged parts to the parts department.

• Maintain quality standards of dress, attitude, customer care, honesty and health and safety in order to portray a professional image to customers at all times.

• Follow personnel policies and procedures, including holiday periods, disciplinary codes, etc.

Manufacturing & Production Operative

We have vacancies for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our Motorcycle Production Department.

All our Motorbikes are hand built to an extremely high standard. Each individual bike has to go through a rigorous production process from start to finish and once completed, undergoes a thorough Quality Testing, Compliance and Sign Off Process.

We are looking for people with the following skills

  • Excellent Use of Hand Tools
  • Experience in Hand Assembly of Complex Units
  • Some knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Assembly and components
  • Ability to build products to benchmark standards
  • A methodical approach to following instructions, either written, diagrammatic or verbal

Production Welders Mig and Tig

We are looking for hardworking and committed talented people to join our team, embrace the passion which exists within our Welding and Fabrication Team, and help us on our journey to become a World Class Manufacturer.

As a result, we are looking for Production Welders with experience in Mig and Tig Welding in Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminium.

The successful person will be a time served metal polisher, with experience of welding to a high-quality standard, possess a good work ethic and an eye for detail. Your work will be visible on every Norton Motorcycle, and personal pride and high-quality standards will reflect the pride you display in producing our products.
