Workshop assistant - Temp 6 months

The Role

The Norton Motorcycle Co. Ltd are looking for a Workshop assistant to join us. This role will be supporting the manufacturing department. Expect to be supporting the fabrication team with workshop activities including but not limited to cleaning weld spatter from mild steel welded frames using an angle grinder, Completing traceability paperwork in line with company regulations and  Supporting the polishing team to ease workload and to sustain the welding line for the motorcycles built here onsite at Norton HQ.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow SOP’s to clean welding spatter on frames and frame components

  • Follow all safe working procedures

  • Adhere to all health and safety protocols

  • Complete traceability paperwork in line with company standards

  • Working to a build plan

  • Support the polishing department where required

  • Support the welding line with component preparation

  • Support EOL inspection

  • General housekeeping

Personal Specifications:

  • Experienced working in a manufacturing environment

  • Experienced in using angle grinders

  • Knowledge of welding processes would be advantageous

  • Metal polishing experience would be advantageous
