Project and Process Coordinator
Norton Motorcycles is a dynamic, inspirational brand at the forefront of British design and is a rapidly growing business in motorcycle manufacture. We are looking for an experienced Junior Project coordinator to organise and support our Product Line Management department in their day to day duties . This is an excellent opportunity for personal growth and progression whilst being involved in one of the most exciting global motorcycle manufacturers. This role will be based in our new Solihull premises based on solar park.
Based within the Product Line Management Department, the role holder will liaise closely with the Design/ Engineering/ Quality/ Manufacturing/ Purchase departments where necessary. The job requires a wide range of technical and practical skill sets to support day-to-day operations for the PLM’s, which goes hand-in-hand with the introduction of new project planning software and processes to allow strong planning for current and future models for Norton. The successful candidate will form good working relationships with the PLMs and become a valuable member of the PL team.
Coordinating the activities of the Product Line Management department for the purpose of achieving the goal of given projects.
Provides the administrative guidance and support on project execution.
Maintaining up to date information from various departments where required and making sure their deadlines are achieved.
Supporting PLMs to ensure projects are monitored, maintained and completed on time and to the correct specification
Support the line manager and team in an efficient fast paced environment
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
Effectively communicate with all levels of the business from shop floor to Director level
Ability to supervise, motivate, develop and inspire others
Communicate effectively with UK and overseas suppliers when necessary.
Support all relevant tasks whilst working alongside multiple PLM projects.
Responsible for the flow of information from the Senior PLM to the team.
Creating and editing slide preparation for management cadence meetings.
Liaise with Engineering Technical Leads monitoring and resolution of issues
Analysing data and producing chase lists/progress reports etc.
Budget creation and monitoring alongside the line manager (Product Line Manager)
Timing plan creation and monitoring where required for the relevant PLM
Ensure that the Norton Product Creation System is fit for purpose – support the NPCS manager in developing and tuning processes whilst ensuring all PLMs follow.
Good working knowledge of all Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ETC)
Support the relevant PLM in their day to day duties, to plan, commence, execute, supervise, and roundup their assigned projects
Be able to raise Design Change Notice (DCN) Purchase Requisitions(PR)
Sufficient in using electronic systems such as SAGE, Design Quality Register, SAP, ETC
Facilitate meetings, take and publish minutes– follow up all minuted actions with the owners to ensure completion on time
Automotive/Project Management experience preferred
Supporting a team in an engineering environment in delivery of their day to day duties
Experience working in a manufacturing / automotive manufacturing environment
Previous time served apprentice, or graduate in Project Management or related technical area/subject.
Good Working knowledge of MS office software and Project Software
Prince2 or equivalent
