Lead Quality Engineer, New Product Introduction

The Norton Motorcycles Co. Ltd is looking for an experienced Lead NPI engineer with a track record of delivery within manufacturing / engineering / automotive industries. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual with a hands-on approach to Quality prepared to lead by example to instil a mindset of Quality First within an OEM working on a revamped product range. You will need to demonstrate the ability to manage a high degree of change within an organisation.
Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Build and lead a team of engineers responsible for ensuring that the Quality department achieve the right level of production readiness for new products
Responsible for reporting on product and part Quality status for new models, both internally within the Quality department and also to the wider business
Ensuring that product inspection processes are developed throughout pre-production builds and in line with gateways ready for handover to the current vehicle Quality team
Ensuring that product inspection standards are delivered in line with timings set out in our new product creation system
Assessing any new training requirements relating to new models i.e. process methodology, product technology, newly implemented systems etc
Responsible for managing all levels of pre-production product inspections in line with new models build schedules
Acting as an approver for new model content within various Quality systems in order to achieve a consistently high standard of content handed over to the current vehicle Quality team when products go into production
Supporting the Supplier Quality team with concerns raised during pre-production builds
Act as the point of contact for new model Quality
Responsible for ensuring Quality lessons learned are captured and proactively considered for all new models
New product setup within manufacturing
Automotive experience is preferable
Self-sufficient and good organisational skills
