Launch Planning Manager

The Role

The Launch Planning Manager plays a pivotal role at Norton Motorcycles. The Launch Planning Manager is part of the wider Norton Marketing Team and is responsible for the development and management of the launch plan and go-to-market strategy across Marketing with Product, Consumer Insights, Customer Experience, Sales and Customer Service in relevant cross-functional teams in order to exploit the full potential of the carlines. Cross functional interactions are also key, primarily with Vehicle Product Team  and Manufacturing.

The Customer Insights and Market Research Manager and Product Team will work alongside the Launch Planning Manager to support with managing the launch process, launch plans and go-to-market strategy.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for defining and executing the go-to-market strategy and launch plan. 

  • Responsible for bike line gateway pass performance at Launch Gateway Review . 

  • Chair relevant Launch Planning Operations Meeting cross functional meetings to ensure effectiveness – these could be aligned with the Product Team meetings. 

  • Drive cross functional working across Commercial to the best interests of the respective bike line in a collaborative manner consistent with Customer First principals. 

  • Support delivery of the Brand and Business Plan targets for the bike lines. 

  • Responsible for input for Launch Gateway Review, Customer Experience, First Line Meetings, CEO briefings and other Brand and launch review forums for individual bike lines. 

  • The Commercial voice in the New Model Launch process.  

  • Responsible for alignment with markets (in the future) and go-to-market strategies / launch plans are established and deployed effectively in market including market activation. With a support of the Consultancy agency and wider Marketing Team.  

  • Support CRM Team in readiness of the Order to Invoice process for respective bike lines to ensure order call readiness. 

  • Responsible for ensuring technical data timing readiness and reactions to any changes within launch plans. 

  • Responsible for pre-build vehicles (PP, VB, Marketing Fleet) readiness for assets generation and media usage for respective bike lines. 

  • Drive and share best practice across the marketing team and markets. 

  • Responsible for marketing and launch plans for lead markets (future). 

  • Responsible for creation and maintenance of the nameplate launch plan, including vehicle requirements and movements. 

  • Responsible for leading cross functional teams where relevant to mitigate risks in launch plans.  

  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested from time to time. 

Personal Specification:   

  • As the Launch Planning Manager, you’ll need the following skills & experience: 
    Previous experience of working with a product marketing (engineering focus desirable) 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills 

  • Project management skills  

  • Experience of working and managing cross functional teams 

  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness
