Job Overview
The Norton Motorcycle Co. Ltd is looking for an experienced Continuous Improvement manager to develop and deliver our Continuous Improvement strategy, and manage our waste reduction activities.
The role will be pivotal in developing a culture of continuous improvement within the business, creating an environment in which everyone is empowered and equipped to drive change.
Role, duties and responsibilities
Developing a sustainable Continuous Improvement strategy for Norton
Managing a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) to deliver strategic and tactical objectives
Coaching and mentoring teams and individuals at all levels of the business, to ensure a culture that embraces PDCA methodology, and that CI is our standard way of working
Developing and managing a team of engineers who are responsible for CI projects and concern resolution
Lead formal training in Continuous Improvement / Lean tools & techniques
Liaising with external providers & consultants to develop strategic solutions
Promoting the use of robust problem solving methodologies across the organisation
Interpreting data from KPIs to target improvement activities, eliminating waste and non-value added activities
Support teams through managing change
Keep up to date with cross-industry best practice, arranging benchmarking visits where appropriate
Who we're looking for
Experience in the development and deployment of a culture that embraces Continuous Improvement
Can effectively coach Teams, Managers and Leaders in Lean tools & Change Management
Extensive use of formal problem solving tools, and ability to train in their use
Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence at all organisational levels
A methodical, investigative and inquisitive mind and attention to detail
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Planning and negotiating skills
A deep understanding of the way organisational processes work.
A self-motivated work ethic for identifying and leading development/improvement opportunities
