In the first Superbike race, Mackers, aboard the all new SG2, came home in 18th place to secure a bronze replica trophy. Disappointingly, despite a strong start, 'Hegatron' had to pull in after 4 laps, when loose stones resulted in a locked caliper.
Dan Hegarty clocked his fastest lap of 121.731mph in the Superbike Race and placed 20th in the Monster Energy Supersport 1 Race.
With more testing required on the engine side, we went into the Senior race with standard road spec engines. Both riders did us proud and, after some 240 miles of race distance, both bikes finished having set lap times in the 122mph bracket, a great achievement considering we were some 30-40bhp down on the top teams. We achieved 24th and 36th position, just reward for the reliability of the bike and the talent and dedication of the Norton engineers and mechanics.
