Norton has chosen Works Racing Motor Cycles Ltd. as its official historic racing partner. The tie up means that over the coming months the two companies will jointly develop a range of parts for Norton’s iconic historic racing machines. This process will culminate in race-ready 30M and 40M specification motorcycles becoming available by the end of 2010. Complete engine assemblies are already available from stock.
There is no better way to prove a new racing model than to race it, and so a new team has been formed to do just that. Pulling together the top names in classic bike racing scene, including tuning ace Fred Walmsley, the Works-Norton team is contesting the 2010 Bonhams British Historic GP championship with an all new race bike, built to the exact specification of the last Manx model to leave Bracebridge Street in 1962. 2003 FIM World Classic Champion Glen English is in the hot seat and has already demonstarted his class and that of the new bike, by winning the first six races of the series.
