||Norton is a prestige motorcycle company with lots of customer backing and a massive amount of interest. Norton needs to be put back on the map and I want to help in it doing so. A typical working day for me includes building bikes in the production workshop and servicing customer bikes in the service bay. I also get the opportunity to meet customers at their homes to service their bikes. The best things about working at Norton Motorcycles is working on bikes everyday. One of my favourite highlights was parading the Norton Black Panther around Darley Moor MCRRC in 2011.
I have great ambitions here at Norton Motorcycles. What I enjoy the most is the afterlife of the build and looking after the servicing and customers. I would like to work towards becoming the head of servicing/service manager when the company gets larger.
If I had to pick my favourite Norton motorcycle it would be the Cafe Racer. I love the NRV for its history and great sound but the Cafe Racer is a great looking retro bike and rides just like a sports bike.
|Outside of work, I tend to like anything with wheels – especially motorsport. I race competitively on a Honda Fireblade in the Michelin Cup and I also like cycling. Before I worked at Norton Motorcycles, I worked on all aspects of vehicles and ran garages around Derby so I’m used to talking and dealing with customers. I held the position of Senior Technician at BMW/Mini.I have been riding motorcycles since I was 4 so I have a great passion for them. I did my apprenticeship at East Midlands Vehicle Hire and was awarded 2nd place for apprentice of the year.
As mentioned before, I race motorcycles in the Michelin Cup which is televised on Motors TV so I spend a lot of time working with motorcycles.
