HRH the Duke of Cambridge dropped in to see Norton at the UK Motorcycle show. Prince William is a bike enthusiast and showed great interest in the British built Norton range. He even tried out the Norton SG2 factory TT bike. Norton are proud and prvilidged to have had Prince William spend some time with us and show his interest in the company and our bikes.
Norton HQ hosted an OSET Fun Day on Saturday 16th November when over 50 children demonstrated that their enthusiasm and passion for motorbikes is as strong as ever.
A factory tour took visitors through the early days of Norton right up to the present day with a range of fascinating bikes on display. Visitors enjoyed a real insight into how these British built bikes are made – a true ‘behind the scenes’ experience. A lucky few also got to sit on some of the bikes on display.
Around three quarters of the kids had never ridden a trials event before, so the practice event proved the perfect introduction. Following a short demonstration, riders were given their own score cards a la mini-golf style, to take with them through the woodland course to get an understanding of how a real trial is marked.
Dad, Richard Douglas, said: “A fantastic day was had by all and the kids really enjoyed the sections and the tour, hospitality was at its finest from both Norton & OSET; a massive thanks from me. We are all really looking forward to attending the next official trial.”
This sentiment was echoed by Ian Mackman, who added: “My lad hasn’t stopped talking about his first trial and keeps asking how long until the next one!”
Stuart Garner, owner of Norton, finished: “It was great to see so many kids having fun on bikes. It highlights that the future of motorcycling is a bright one!”
