Just weeks after settling into the new 45,000 sq ft production facility at Hasting House, located within the grounds of Donington Hall, Norton Motorcycles is developing and growing its export market. With the improved production facility layout, Norton have been able to grow production volume of its hand built motorcycles whilst increasing quality control procedures at all stages of production. Ensuring that volume growth has not been at the expense of quality control. The increase in volume is enabling key export markets to open and take further deliveries of pre-ordered motorcycles.
Norton welcomed its new Australian/New Zealand distributor at the Donington Hall factory this week. Spending sometime at the factory were, Mr Warren Fraser – Managing Director, his wife Catherine – Group Director, their daughter Alison – Group Marketing Manager, and Warren Lee – CEO Fraser Motorcycle Group. The team covered details of Norton’s forthcoming return to the Australian and New Zealand territories. Work on homologation has already started and all parties are looking forward to building a strong Norton presence in these key markets.
Stuart Garner, Norton Motorcycles CEO said, ” We all have much work to do as we start the homologation process, everyone at Norton is committed to re-establishing a strong presence in Australia and New Zealand. Norton has a great partner in Fraser’s who have a wealth of motorcycle experience, we are all very excited at Norton’s return to these key markets.”

Following hot on the heels of the Canadian launch event, Stuart Garner met with Dan Van Epps CEO of Norton America in central New York. The only topic of conversation was the imminent delivery of new Norton Commando motorcycles. Stuart and Dan discussed the final specification and model details needed to begin the October production of US Commando 961 Models. The bikes destined for the USA will be some of the first produced in Norton’s new Hastings House manufacturing facility. In addition to the location’s greater size and volume potential, it also allows for future expansion when needed. In preparation for the move of Norton production to the Hastings House facility, the key priority in it’s layout design and construction was a focus on quality control during each assembly stage. The U.S. destined Commando models feature many product, material and engineering changes that ensure every Norton produced is robust, reliable and delivers that true British Roadster experience.
