Norton supports British Motorcycle Academy July 7 2014

Norton Motorcycles can today proudly announce it’s support for the British Motorcycle Manufacture Academy [BMMA], the brainchild of Stuart Garner the CEO of Norton. Stuart passionately believes in the British motorcycle industry and feels we have to push hard to ensure a solid and sustainable future. The BMMA bring a unique opportunity to young people in the UK to enter the British motorcycle manufacturing industry.

Norton exports to Japan July 4 2014

Norton are pleased to announce further shipments of Commando 961 motorcycles into Japan. Following the recent re-location of the factory to Donington Hall, production volumes at Norton are increasing and export volumes are growing strongly. The Japanese shipment follows on from first exports to California last month, this saw the first new Norton bikes there for some 40 years. Australia is the next new territory for Norton, with exports anticipated to commence in coming short months following a succesful homologation process for the territory.

Now we’re all back and the dust has settled we can look back at our 2014 TT. The team had two all new SG3 bikes and a new rider in Cameron Donald, with Mick Grant and Steve Plater brought in to help with bike setup and development. After some big changes in setup during practice week we went into the first Superbike race on the back foot a little bit. We had been chasing some rear end set up issues all week, they only showed up on the incredibly demanding TT course and had not been found at all on short circuit testing.

The Norton race team are currently at the Isle of Man competing in the 2014 TT road races. Our factory rider Cameron Donald has currently posted a 123 mph lap time in practice. With many set up changes coming from the data and telemetry gathered we are looking to increase lap times as the bike development continues. Our last practice session is Wednesday 4th June and the blue ribband Senior race is Friday 6th June. Here's a few pics of Cam and SG3 in action...
