Motocicli Speciali SRL

We were delighted to welcome our Italian friends from Motocicli Speciali SRL at the Norton factory Donington Park recently.

Based in Cremona nr Milan, Norton’s North Italian sales will be managed and maintained exclusively by Davide and Andrea along with their team at Motocicli.

Having just completed a tour of the Donington Park facilities both Davide and Andrea are delighted with their appointment. The visit enabled them to have a much clearer awareness of the factory operation, whilst gaining a detailed understanding of the precision detail required to hand build the classic Commando 961 models.

As the demand and awareness for the new Norton Commando 961 continues to grow across Europe, it is good news for all Norton fans in Italy.

Stars at Darley Moor

Norton attended the final round of the 2011 Annual Stars at Darley meeting last weekend. The hot weather drew in the largest crowds ever for a ‘Stars’ meeting who all descended on the Norton stand at some point over the weekend to admire the current World Speed Record holder Norton NRV588 and the special edition road production Panther.

On the afternoon of race day Sunday, Senior Production Technician Shane Pearson showed off the Panther while Production Manger Ian Morgan demonstrated the NRV588 Norton over 4 laps to the eagerly awaiting crowd.

Martin Jones joins Norton

Martin has joined Norton as Machine Shop Manager and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge from the prototype automotive industry for both machined parts and press work. Martin said, “I am very pleased to join the team at Norton and am looking forward to being involved in projects and production of current and future Norton Motorcycles.”

Rob Maxwell’s motorcycle service

Robert Maxwell and his specially adapted Norton Commando 961 SE paid a visit to our Donington Park factory for its’ 12 month service after covering 1,400 miles. Robert’s motorcycle has been adapted by Norton with help from ProShift to allow control of the throttle, clutch and brake from the left handlebar via a series of press controls and specially modified levers.
