A Good Day Had By All

The Norton Car Side

A good day was had by all when Norton staff were treated to a day out on track at Donington Park Grand Prix Race Circuit. This time not on the 961 Commando, nor the NRV 588, but in their own vehicles. Great lap times were set by the head of the design department, “Skinner”, not in his usual track day car but in his Vauxhall Omega 3L V6, closely followed by our CEO Mr Stuart Garner in his Toyota Supra 3L Turbo, but nothing compared to the fantastic lap time of the NRV 588!

“New Norton is better than I ever hoped”

Phil West (Executive Editor of MCN)

Phil West Executive Editor of MCN recently experienced the world’s first ride on the new Norton Commando 961. Although still in prototype state, comments made by Phil West were very positive stating that “…in the flesh, it’s a classy bit of kit…”, he then goes on to say “I’ve ridden so called ‘aspirational’ production bikes which fail to come close to the Norton’s mouth watering style, impressive finish and peerless specification. It’s a bike – even in this unfinished state – i would be proud to have in my garage.”

CEO Mr Stuart Garner commented “it was great to meet Phil at our factory at Donington Park Grand Prix Circuit, Donington Park, and I am thrilled that he enjoyed the bike so much”.
