UK Dealer Development Manager

Norton Motorcycles (UK) have a vacancy for a UK Dealer Development Manager based at their headquarters at Donington Hall in Castle Donington. 

Managing the UK dealer network the role will be the direct line of contact to the dealer and distributor network.  Comprehensive responsibilities will include planning of dealer network - dealer management process to include all aspects of the application, appointment or replacement of new and existing dealers.   Building aUK dealer network is essential to explore new market opportunities.  In addition Dealer Agreement amendments and renewals along with warranty procedure and build planning. 

 

Knowledge and Experience

The successful applicant will display excellent communication qualities, forward thinking and be pro-active with judgement, direction-setting and achieving targets.

Experience of UK sales within in the motorcycle/automotive sector is essential along with a strong understanding of the dynamics of motorcycle/automotive dealership and its’ functions.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Motorcycle selling background essential
  • Good communication skills and comfortable in dealing with people
  • Willing to travel
  • Ability to complete tasks set to very tight deadlines

Calibration and Development Engineer

The role of Calibration and Development Engineer at Norton is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a small close knit team of industry professionals in a fast moving and dynamic environment, working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

The role would include overseeing the continued improvement of a range of exciting Norton projects, including road and race motorcycles for driveability and durability. This would also include development of chassis electronic functions such as traction control, launch control and anti-wheelie strategies. Production vehicle calibration and emission control experience would be advantageous but not essential.

Norton invites applicants from all engineering backgrounds however a practical experience of automotive fundamentals would be of great benefit as would a working knowledge of the latest engine management systems and software, the candidate must be a team player and posses and excellent work ethic.

Salary package dependent on previous skills and experience.

Engine Builder/Engine Sub Assembly

Job vacancy for a full time Engine Builder and Engine Sub Assembly

Must have good knowledge of 4 stroke engines and be practically minded along with being able to understand instructions, working from drawings and assembly manuals. Have an understanding of measuring equipment such as verniers and bore micrometers.

Duties to include

  . Preparation of raw engine engine parts

 . Good use of hand tools

 . Good understanding of 4 stroke engines

 . Able to read drawings and manuals

 . Be methodical in assembly

 . Good eye for detail

 . Building sub assemblies and engines by hand

Experience in building engines but full training will be given

Must be Reliable, Flexible and Punctual

Motorcycle licence would be an advantage

Skilled Aluminium Welder/Fabricator Required

Skilled Aluminium Welder/Fabricator Required

Prospective candidates are being invited to apply for the position of Aluminium Welder/Fabricator at the iconic Norton Motorcycle factory based in Castle Donnington. The ideal candidate would ideally be an experienced aluminium fabricator with a solid background in TIG welding sheet aluminium down to 2mm. Daily duties would include the welding and fabrication of motorcycle fuel tanks, clip-on’s and one-off specialist parts. Attention to detail and a committed work ethic is essential. Great rates of pay, plenty of overtime and genuine co-workers await the ideal candidate.

Production Staff

Skilled production staff are required with a positive and focused attitude who can take ownership and responsibility for their role, whilst seeing the build process through to completion.

The job will be to assemble our world class motorcycles where you will perform service and maintenance procedures and run computer aided diagnostics. A determined and accurate approach is needed along with the ability to work on your own initiative and part of a team.

Essential knowledge in automotive engineering/manufacturing is required along with experience working with motorcycles.

After Sales Manager

Norton Motorcycles is a rapidly expanding dynamic business that is looking for an experienced After Sales Manager for the UK, Europe and R.O.W. based at Donington Hall.

Applicants should have previous After Sales Managerial experience with the ability to develop and increase new business opportunities. You will be organised, flexible and a team player capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines. The successful candidate will need to be self motivated, confident and enthusiastic, with the ability to examine and analyse financial data and monitor expenditure. This role will suit an individual that has the desire to deliver an excellent quality of service to each and every customer.

Objectives:

  • Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction 
  • Work to constantly improve the quality of customer service
  •  Handle dissatisfied customers calmly, resolve complaints fairly but firmly with sensitivity if required
  • Assess the financial performance of the service department, parts department and workshop
  • Carry out regular reviews of pricing policies, labour rates, discounts and parts pricing
  • Monitor warranty claims submissions, credit account applications and credit facilities

Sales / Service Administrator

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting UK Sales Office with customer quotations, orders and queries
  • Checking availability of stock and processing orders
  • Arranging carriers for delivery of motorcycles and parts
  • Reply to all sales and test ride enquiries and maintain data information
  • Book in service and maintenance jobs for motorbikes
  • Cost and invoice off jobs and take payments
  • Oversee new order bike builds
  • Process all associated paperwork for Motorcycle sales and Warranty registrations    
  • Assist / attend Motorcycles shows

Senior Purchaser

Norton Motorcycles are looking for a Senior Purchaser to support its buying team based at Donington Hall. Working with the existing buyers this individual will form part of the purchasing function of this UK based global brand to ensure a robust and committed UK supply team. We believe that communication, management and development of the supply chain are paramount.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Purchaser with a track record of delivery within the manufacturing / engineering / automotive industries. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential and you will need to demonstrate the ability to manage the operational raw material requirements of a manufacturing business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure there are always sufficient components in stock to satisfy the demands of production
  • Optimise stock levels
  • Develop the practice of expediting purchase orders to ensure delivery promises are achieved
  • Coordinate with all other departments for smooth functioning and prioritising of purchase department activity
  • Participate in the development of purchasing specifications for material, components or products
  • Monitor the financial relationships with key suppliers

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Diagnosis of desktop, application, networking and infrastructure issues
  • Troubleshooting PC’s
  • Providing IT support to users
  • Administering the IT department’s policies and procedures
  • Installation and support of telecommunication equipment
  • Maintaining a log of all problems detected and system backups
  • Working closely with software suppliers to resolve  operational issues
  • Responsible for supporting Microsoft Office Suite, anti-virus products, Ethernet, wireless router and firewall configurations
