Purchaser

Norton Motorcycles is looking to add a Purchaser to its’ Buying team based at our new headquarters at Donington Hall. Working with the existing team of buyers this individual will form part of driving the purchasing function of this UK based global brand to ensure a robust and committed supply chain. We believe that management and development of external suppliers is paramount.

We are looking for an experienced Purchaser with a track record of delivery within manufacturing/engineering/automotive industries. You must be able to demonstrate a track record of cost reduction through both direct negotiation and working strategically with suppliers to find mutually beneficial cost-downs. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred and you will need to demonstrate the ability to manage the operational raw material requirements of a manufacturing business.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

  • Ensure there are always sufficient components in stock to satisfy the demands of production
  • Optimise stock levels
  • Develop the practice of expediting purchase orders to ensure delivery promises are achieved
  • Coordinate with all other departments for smooth functioning and prioritising of purchasing departmental activity
  • Participate in the development of purchasing specifications for material, components or products
  • Monitor the financial relationship with key suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s quality and environmental standards.

Production Staff

Skilled production staff are required with a positive and focused attitude who can take ownership and responsibility for their role, whilst seeing the build process through to completion.

The job will be to assemble our world class motorcycles where you will perform service and maintenance procedures and run computer aided diagnostics. A determined and accurate approach is needed along with the ability to work on your own initiative and part of a team.

Essential knowledge in automotive engineering/manufacturing is required along with experience working with motorcycles.

It is essential that candidates hold a full motorcycle licence.

Dealer Manager

Norton Motorcycles seeks a Sales Manager to be based at their new headquarters at Donington Hall.  Managing the overall relationship between the manufacturer and the dealer network, this is a vital role at a genuinely exciting time of growth.  The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the development and management of the Company's worldwide dealer network covering sales,service, parts and warranty.

The Role:

  • Co-ordination of the Norton Dealer and Distributor Agreements
  • Responsible for ongoing Norton Dealer/Distributor Development
  • Manage the overall relationship  between Norton and the dealer/distributor network which will involve regular dealer visits

The Person:

  • A professional approach with good communication skills and attention to detail
  • A good motorcycle industry all rounder with dealer/distributor and or manufacturer experience
  • A proven background in sales dealer/distributor development.

Van Driver

This role will involve collecting and delivering parcels mainly from the local area

Design Engineer

Purpose of Role

The role of Design Engineer at Norton is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a small close knit team of industry professionals in a fast moving and dynamic environment, working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

The role would consist of product design and validation from concept through to production and production support, including scheming and detailed component engineering using the latest 3D CAD software (Pro E), homologation and vehicle testing.

Norton invites applicants from all engineering backgrounds however a practical experience of automotive fundamentals would be of great benefit as would a working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, the candidate must be a team player and posses and excellent work ethic.

Salary package dependent on previous skills and experience.

Senior Design Engineer

Purpose of Role

The role of Senior Design Engineer at Norton is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a small close knit team of industry professionals in a fast moving and dynamic environment, working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

 As a senior member of the design team the candidate will have engineering responsibility for derivative models and following these into production, as well as significant areas on new projects.  A senior design engineer will also assist with the day to day running of the design office.
