Buyer

Norton Motorcycles is looking to add a Buyer to its’ Buying team based at our new headquarters at Donington Hall. Working with the existing team of buyers this individual will form part of driving the purchasing function of this UK based global brand to ensure a robust and committed supply chain. We believe that management and development of external suppliers is paramount.

We are looking for an experienced Buyer with a track record of delivery within manufacturing/engineering/automotive industries. You must be able to demonstrate a track record of cost reduction through both direct negotiation and working strategically with suppliers to find mutually beneficial cost-downs. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred and you will need to demonstrate the ability to manage the operational raw material requirements of a manufacturing business.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-

  • Ensure there are always sufficient components in stock to satisfy the demands of production
  • Optimise stock levels
  • Develop the practice of expediting purchase orders to ensure delivery promises are achieved
  • Coordinate with all other departments for smooth functioning and prioritising of purchasing departmental activity
  • Participate in the development of purchasing specifications for material, components or products
  • Monitor the financial relationship with key suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s quality and environmental standards.

Mg/Tig Welder

Production Staff

Skilled production staff are required with a positive and focused attitude who can take ownership and responsibility for their role, whilst seeing the build process through to completion.

The job will be to assemble our world class motorcycles where you will perform service and maintenance procedures and run computer aided diagnostics. A determined and accurate approach is needed along with the ability to work on your own initiative and part of a team.

Essential knowledge in automotive engineering/manufacturing is required along with experience working with motorcycles.

Design Engineer

The role of Design Engineer at Norton is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a small close knit team of industry professionals in a fast moving and dynamic environment, working with one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall, Castle Donington.

The role would consist of product design and validation from concept through to production and production support, including scheming and detailed component engineering using the latest 3D CAD software (Pro E), homologation and vehicle testing.

Norton invites applicants from all engineering backgrounds however a practical experience of automotive fundamentals would be of great benefit as would a working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, the candidate must be a team player and posses and excellent work ethic.

Senior Design Engineer

 As a senior member of the design team the candidate will have engineering responsibility for derivative models and following these into production, as well as significant areas on new projects.  A senior design engineer will also assist with the day to day running of the design office.

Engine Builder/Engine Sub Assembly

 

Job vacancy for a full time Engine Builder and Engine Sub Assembly

Must have good knowledge of 4 stroke engines and be practically minded along with being able to understand instructions, working from drawings and assembly manuals. Have an understanding of measuring equipment such as verniers and bore micrometers.

 

Duties to include

 

 . Preparation of raw engine engine parts

 . Good use of hand tools

 . Good understanding of 4 stroke engines

 . Able to read drawings and manuals

 . Be methodical in assembly

 . Good eye for detail

 . Building sub assemblies and engines by hand

Experience in building engines but full training will be given

Must be Reliable, Flexible and Punctual

Motorcycle licence would be an advantage

International Dealer Manager

Job Summary

Norton Motorcycles has a range of high end premium products and this is an exciting opportunity to join our rapidly growing global brand in a fast moving and dynamic environment here at Donington Hall.

 Managing the Global dealer network the candidate would be a direct line of contact with it’s dealer and distributor network and also responsible for planning, dealer management processes including all aspects of the application, appointment or replacement of new and existing dealers. The role will also be to recommend and propose new dealer business or new market opportunities. In addition, the individual will be required to be involved in administering Dealer Agreement amendments and renewals along with warranty procedure and build planning.

Knowledge and Experience

The successful applicant will display good leadership qualities, forward thinking and be proactive with judgment, direction-setting and achieving of targets, the individual will be able to effectively manage staffing and resource requirements.   Experience of international sales in the motorcycle/automotive sector and technical / product knowledge to interface successfully with target customers and dealers is essential for this role, as well as a strong understanding of the dynamics of a car/motorcycle dealership and its functions.
