Production Staff

Skilled production staff are required with a positive and focused attitude who can take ownership and responsibility for their role, whilst seeing the build process through to completion.

The job will be to assemble our world class motorcycles where you will perform service and maintenance procedures and run computer aided diagnostics. A determined and accurate approach is needed along with the ability to work on your own initiative and part of a team.

Essential knowledge in automotive engineering/manufacturing is required along with experience working with motorcycles.

Design Engineer

Senior Design Engineer

 As a senior member of the design team the candidate will have engineering responsibility for derivative models and following these into production, as well as significant areas on new projects.  A senior design engineer will also assist with the day to day running of the design office.

Engine Builder/Engine Sub Assembly

 

Job vacancy for a full time Engine Builder and Engine Sub Assembly

Must have good knowledge of 4 stroke engines and be practically minded along with being able to understand instructions, working from drawings and assembly manuals. Have an understanding of measuring equipment such as verniers and bore micrometers.

 

Duties to include

 

 . Preparation of raw engine engine parts

 . Good use of hand tools

 . Good understanding of 4 stroke engines

 . Able to read drawings and manuals

 . Be methodical in assembly

 . Good eye for detail

 . Building sub assemblies and engines by hand

Experience in building engines but full training will be given

Must be Reliable, Flexible and Punctual

Motorcycle licence would be an advantage

Principal Engineer

The role of Principal Engineer at Norton is an excellent and challenging opportunity for the right candidate. We are a small close knit team of industry professionals who work in a fast moving and dynamic environment. You will be a team member of one of the most passionate and exciting names in the motorcycling industry here at Donington Hall.

 

The Principal Engineer will be assisting the Head of Design in delivery of new projects, including the well publicised range of bikes under development thanks to significant funding from Central Government. This range of high end motorcycles will ensure Norton’s longevity as the UK’s most exciting motorcycle manufacturer.

 

The role will consist of product design and validation from concept through to production and ongoing production support of new models, including scheming and detailed component engineering using the latest 3D CAD software (Creo), homologation and vehicle testing.

 

The candidate will ideally have experience of Motorcycle Engineering and manufacture but, candidates from all back grounds will be considered, however a detailed understanding of motorcycles is essential. The candidate must of course be a team player and possess an excellent work ethic.

Norton Motorcycles is looking to add a Buyer to its Buying team based at our new headquarters at Donington Hall. Working with the existing team of buyers this individual will form part of driving the purchasing function of this UK based global brand to ensure a robust and committed supply chain. We believe that management and development of external suppliers is paramount.

We are looking for an experienced Buyer with a track record of delivery within manufacturing/engineering/automotive industries. You must be able to demonstrate a track record of cost reduction through both direct negotiation and working strategically with suppliers to find mutually beneficial cost-downs. You will be an enthusiastic and capable individual whose internal relationships will be as important as those with your suppliers.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is preferred and you will need to demonstrate the ability to manage the operational raw material requirements of a manufacturing business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:-

Ensure there are always sufficient components in stock to satisfy the demands of production

Optimise stock levels

Develop the practice of expediting purchase orders to ensure delivery promises are achieved

Skilled Aluminium Welder/Fabricator Required

Prospective candidates are being invited to apply for the position of Aluminium Welder/Fabricator at the iconic Norton Motorcycle factory based in Castle Donnington. The ideal candidate would ideally be an experienced aluminium fabricator with a solid background in TIG welding sheet aluminium down to 2mm. Daily duties would include the welding and fabrication of motorcycle fuel tanks, clip-on’s and one-off specialist parts. Attention to detail and a committed work ethic is essential. Duties and responsibilities

Purchase invoice processing
Bank reconciliation, posting and balancing
Weekly petty cash and other journal posting
Daily bank receipts postings
Set up new suppliers on accounting software
Reports on debtors and creditors
Payroll processing

Person Specification
Proficient in Sage 50 Accounts and Payroll
Excellent excel skills
Proactive individual focused on system and reporting improvements
Payroll experience

Race Team Mechanics

We are now recruiting for experienced race team mechanics. The successful candidate will get to work on the latest Isle of Man TT machinery and travel to testing and racing as part of the team.

 

Candidates will need to demonstrate;

 

  • A good understanding of basic mechanical and electrical tech.
  • A logical thought process and excellent fault finding ability.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work under pressure for extended periods of time.
  • A quick response to team orders and a ‘can-do’ approach to the task in-hand.
  • Must be available to commit to testing and racing dates agreed with the team.

This is an excellent opportunity to a join new and closely knit team. You will have the rare opportunity to work on and help develop a full prototype racing motorcycle from concept to grid. Applicants will initially be accessed on a part-time basis with the potential of fulltime employment for the right person.
